Sports Days: A Celebration of Sportsmanship and Anti-Bullying Awareness

  • 13 October 2025

Sports Days is one of the most eagerly awaited annual events at Nizamia Andalusia Primary School. This year, Sports Days 2025 carries the theme "Chasing Goals, Building Bonds" which reflects the spirit of pursuing achievement while strengthening togetherness. The event began with the Opening Ceremony on October 13, 2025, marking the start of a week filled with excitement, teamwork, and encouragement among students.

A variety of sports competitions were held, including mini soccer, relay race, woodball, dodgeball, futsal, basketball, can-throwing, and swimming. Each match was not only an opportunity to showcase athletic skills but also a chance for students to learn about sportsmanship, teamwork, and mutual support.

Leisya, a Grade 6 student who received the title Best Girl Basketball Player, shared her experience:

“I think Sports Days brought us closer to classmates we didn't know very well before. Through this event, I got to know my friends better and learned how to build teamwork!”

In addition to promoting sportsmanship, this year's Sports Days also highlighted an anti-bullying campaign. Before every match, teachers reminded students of the importance of respect, empathy, and supporting one another. This approach aligns with UNICEF Indonesia's recommendations emphasizing positive behavior, empathy, and collaboration in schools.

These values were evident throughout the competitions. Students learned that true victory is not just about scores but about spirit, effort, and teamwork. Rilo, who was named Grade 6 Best Futsal Player, shared his story:

"The futsal final was so much fun! The support from my classmates kept me motivated, and we ended up winning. I hope next year there will be more sports, like badminton."

The reflections from Leisya and Rilo perfectly capture the school's core values—sportsmanship and unity that go beyond competition. According to Ms. Ika Dwi Rachmawati, S.Pd., Principal of Nizamia Andalusia Primary School, Sports Days is not just about winning games but also about shaping student's character through meaningful learning experiences.

"Sports Days is always a much-anticipated moment for both students and parents. Through this event, children learn how to compete fairly, collaborate with others, and accept results with sportsmanship. More than just a competition, Sports Days is part of our Wellbeing Program that supports Nizamia Vision 2030 and represents our strong commitment to the anti-bullying initiative"

Ms. Ika

With the spirit of "Chasing Goals, Building Bonds" Nizamia Andalusia hopes that this year's Sports Days will not only create lasting memories but also strengthen unity and support the Wellbeing Program as part of Nizamia Vision 2030.
